Holiday Inn's Flavors Restaurant - Limited Food Choices

We availed of Citibank's 50% off at Flavors and had lunch on a Saturday. I forgot to make a reservation but the lady staff was kind enough to accommodate us and arranged set up of additional table at a private area (with smoked glass walls) just adjacent to the main dining area.

I found the food choices to be limited . There's nothing to rave about the flavors, taste is not delectable. Dishes were your average beef caldereta, spicy squid, pata tim, crispy seafood noodle, sweet and sour pork, grilled chicken, fish, ratatouille, pumpkin soup, pizza, pasta, noodle soup, a small salad bar, dessert spread, taco bar, Japanese food limited to maki and a bit of salmon sashimi.

It's much better to go to the nearby Buffet 101 which has wider selection of food and is priced the same as the discounted price at Flavors.

We're not totally disappointed with our lunch. Good customer service shown by the staff made up for the limited food choices. Without the Citibank promo, the original price of Php 1400 is pricey. I must say we will not have a second visit even if there's a promo and will explore other hotel restaurants.

Sarsa Kitchen & Bar- Pricey but nothing special

This restaurant made news because a celebrity featured it in her TV show and your curiosity will be aroused. Filipino dishes were given a twist but did not taste excellent. Dishes were pricey and serving portion was small.

Ginisang munggo was given a twist and was named munggo-nisa where supposedly it had longganisa for toppings. Sadly,  you can not see the longganisa topping at all but rather the topping looked like a crushed bacon sprinkled stingily. It was not tasty at all. Priced at P190, content was just one coffee mug again spread on a plate to look plenty.

Kare kare was renamed to twice cooked porkbelly. The small serving priced at P325 had fried pork belly chopped at 1 inch length and half of it was fat and two leaves of pechay. The sauce was bland.

The sizzling kansi is your beef bulalo steak at P395 was small and the meat was spread on the plate to make it look plenty. Though the meat was tender, it was not flavorful.

For the physical aspect of the restaurant, it was cozy and spacious. The food attendant were courteous and friendly. Food was served in 20 minutes.

They may have presented the food differently to show some art but food is not worth coming back to because their pricey, small portion and nothing special about the taste .
